1965 Fender Bassman Amp Black Face (AA165) w/matching 2×12″ Piggyback Cabinet (Oxford speakers)

Up for sale, an original (not a reissue) 1965 Fender Bassman Amp Black face with its matching 2×12″ Piggyback Cabinet, loaded with its original Oxford speakers in Very Clean and incredible working condition.

A complete early to mid ’65 Bassman matching rig in this clean condition with all original parts don’t come up very often.

AA165 circuit, with all transformers dated ’65 as well as chasis, pots and both 12″ Oxford speakers.

The amp was recently serviced in last October 2024, the two power tubes have been replaced (Electro-Harmonix). The preamp tubes are NOS RCA’s and GE. It’s been upgraded to a 3-prong AC cable for safety reasons. The amp sounds as incredible as you can expect. It works great with both Bass and Guitar. Beside the tubes and the 3-prong power cord the whole amp is all original without any mods.

Aesthetically the amp has a beautiful aging and patina, something that many boutique amps lovers would pay top dollar. The amp has some obvious honest little marks of usage, wear and tear that you can expect for its vintage, however the amp is still very clean considering its age. It also includes all its hardware such as side legs and the attaching/detaching mechanism for the head to lock with the cab.

This is an incredible and iconic Amplifier that has gained reputation as an Industry standard and has set the bar for hundreds of other amps based on its architecture and legendary sound for guitar and bass.
